Last weekend saw our Barton Shield and Junior Cup teams in action. Both were involved in strokes qualifying events on away courses.
Despite practicing and preparing for the games the results were very disappointing.
Junior Cup team finished 13th of 14 teams and Barton Shield 21st of 24 teams. The team managers will give their report at the end of year review meeting with the club committee but my personal opinion is that we must get our panels to test themselves more often away from St. Margaret’s if we are to progress in what are, very competitive competitions.
This weekend sees the Jimmy Bruen team playing in a strokes qualifying competition at Clontarf. Jimmy Bruen is an All Ireland competition and finishing ahead of the local club Clontarf is a big ask. Good luck to Damien Vaughan and Eoin Kelly. They have prepared their team and it is now up to the players to perform on the day.
12.30 pm tee off on Saturday 15th June if you can support.
