It was a long weekend of golf for the club teams.
The Pierce Purcell team played on Saturday in Bellewstown and finished joint 2nd of 18 teams to qualify for play of on Sunday.
With the score at 2-2 and 1 down on 18 the St Margaret’s pair of Richie Roe and Mo Mulville played brilliant golf to square the match, go down 19 for a half and lose on 20 to a brilliant par.
The panel represented the club with honour and played with the utmost sponsorship. Well done.
Sunday afternoon saw the All Ireland Fourball team take on Clontarf in their 3rd round match. The away pair put up a strong fight but succumbed. The home team were up against a strong Clontarf team who took the magic 3rd match in St Margaret’s. The panel was stretched with unavailability of players due to Communions etc.
Both the Pierce Purcell and All Ireland teams depended on panel reserves. I cannot stress enough the importance of large panels throughout a competition.
This weekend sees the Uden Cup team take on Royal Dublin, 3 away at 12 noon and 2 matches at home at 1 pm on Sunday.
If available please lend your support.
Our McDonnell Cup team are due to play next match on Monday 3rd June.
The Jimmy Bruen panel continue to practice for pre qualifying at Clontarf.
Still to come, Senior Cup, Barton Shield and Junior Cup.

Thank you to the Captain and Committee for supporting our panels during practice with coaching and snacks.
